Fiscal Monitoring

The Commission monitors counties (recipients of grant funds) to ensure that Commission grant funds are used for authorized purposes in compliance with laws, regulations, and the provisions of grant agreements.

The Fiscal Monitoring program may consist of formal audits, monitoring reviews, and technical assistance. The Commission may implement monitoring through on-site visits to counties or through desk reviews based on reports that grantees are required to complete. In addition, the Commission may require grantees to submit relevant information to the Commission to support monitoring reviews.

The Commission's Fiscal Monitor prepared a checklist to assist counties form a better understanding of the monitoring process. Additionally, the Fiscal Monitor has prepared a list of frequently used acronyms and abbreviations. Additionally, the recently updated summary of typical findings from 2010 may be helpful.

The archive of Fiscal Monitoring Reports completed by the Commission's Fiscal Monitor is available online.
