TIDC Proposed Legislation

Under § 79.035 of the Government Code, TIDC proposes legislative changes to improve Texas public defense. In the summer of each even-numbered year, TIDC convenes a Legislative Work Group, comprising a broad group of stakeholders. The group considers draft bills and may recommend bills for consideration by TIDC's Policies and Standards Committee and, ultimately, by all members of the Commission.
