TIDC collects indigent defense data from all 254 counties, public defense offices, and attorneys paid for court appointments.

Indigent defense data includes expenditure and related data in TIDC’s 3 core areas:

  • Adult Criminal & Juvenile Deliquency
  • Family Protection Representation

TIDC gathers data through the following reports:

  • Indigent Defense Expenditure Reports (IDER)
  • Indigent Defense Plans (ID Plan)
  • Family Protection Representation Plans (FPR Plan)
  • Attorney Practice Time Report

TIDC’s data website also hosts the Office of Court Administration’s Court Interpretation Services Report.

Why does TIDC collect this data?

  • This data helps TIDC track legal requirements for appointment of counsel and ensure accountability in public spending.
  • Counties must submit reports to receive state grants.
