Cody Huffman

Cody Huffman serves as a policy analyst here at TIDC. Cody most recently worked as an Associate Attorney at Smith & Bledsoe Family Law in Austin, Texas. Cody was born and raised in the Rio Grande Valley as a native of Weslaco, Texas. Cody left home to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism with double minors in Writing and Spanish from Texas State University in San Marcos, Texas. He then attended St. Mary’s University School of Law in San Antonio, Texas where he received his Juris Doctorate in 2023. During his time at St. Mary’s, Cody was a part of the Criminal Justice Clinic as a student attorney representing indigent defendants at the trial and appellate level. He was also a member of the nationally ranked Advocacy Team where he competed in negotiation, mediation, and client counseling competitions. Cody sharpened his analytical and drafting skills during his time as a Staff Writer on The Scholar: St. Mary’s Law Review for Race & Social Justice. During law school, Cody co-founded the Wrongful Conviction Series and sought out many pro-bono opportunities which culminated in him receiving the Law School Dean’s Award, the Marianist Service to Community Award, and the St. Mary’s School of Law Pro Bono Public Service Certificate.
